There are some habits and addictions that are known to be harmful to both humans and animals, such as smoking. However, there are also some common activities and practices that you would never think could harm you or your dog. Let's take a look at these now.
As a pet owner, it is best to avoid the following habits in order to protect your pet's health.
Although many people love to use different scents in their homes, it is worth finding out how they affect health. In general, propellant-based products and artificial aromas are not recommended for humans either, but even natural solutions should be used with caution if you have pets living in your home: they may be too strong for their sensitive noses.

Although it is important to keep your home clean, it is best to choose less harsh chemicals that will not cause harm if your pet accidentally steps in or licks them. There are many effective products with natural ingredients available on the market, but vinegar, baking soda, and washing soda can also be used in many ways to keep our homes tidy.
This is something that you will inevitably have to learn as an animal owner: you cannot leave trash, food leftovers, or even cooking ingredients unattended or in plain sight, even for a short time.
In fact, dogs may even rummage through trash cans if they contain bones, meat scraps, or other items that are appealing to them. Therefore, it is recommended to either bag these items or place them in outdoor waste containers. This is especially important because these items may be harmful or even toxic to your pet.
In addition to dogs and cats, care must also be taken to ensure that animals cannot escape through a window left open or a door left open for too long.

In addition to your dog, you also need to think about how you decorate your home: don't use anything edible and/or poisonous or anything that could cause an accident as decoration. Bowls of chocolate and other treats, candles and lanterns, garlands and ribbons should all be avoided.
