The dog becomes completely caught up in the excitement of the competition

Dogs do so much every day, in countless ways, to make our lives more beautiful. They cheer us up when we're in a bad mood and make us laugh with their antics. They do many things that their owners find hilarious. Like the dog in the video below, who is cheering on the horses in the race with all his heart.

There is always a reason behind surprising behaviour

As owners, we like to think that, like humans, dogs have a sense of humor. To a certain extent, this is true, as dogs often do things on purpose that they know will amuse their owners. However, this behavior is mostly driven by a desire to please humans.

In most cases, it is actually the dog's instincts behind what we perceive as ridiculous behavior. The pet in the video isn't bouncing around in a funny way because it's cheering for the winner. Rather, his enthusiasm may be due to the sight of the galloping animals triggering his pack instinct, making him feel as if he’s running with his four-legged companions. On the other hand, research on dogs watching television suggests that it's not so much the image, but the sound that affects them. It's possible that the bell signaling the start of the race and the commentator's voice are what excite the dog.

Speaking of races, we've previously covered a dog race that didn’t go as planned. Read about the funny situation here.
