It is well known that dogs sometimes eat strange things that we find disgusting, but this habit can even cost the animal its life. The following video compilation shows some extreme examples.
Before sharing the video, we would like to point out that the reactions of the farmers appearing or heard in the recordings are not always to be followed. Panicked shouting is rarely effective, just as laughter only reinforces to the animal that what it is doing makes its owner happy. There are many different cases, ranging from the harmless—such as eating dandelion seeds—to extreme cases such as swallowing a handful of cotton swabs or a wireless earpiece. But all of them are harmful and dangerous; let's see what they are!
On the one hand, consuming indigestible things can cause intestinal obstruction, internal injury, intestinal perforation, but also choking at the very beginning. The phenomenon is called pica, and there are many reasons behind it, such as boredom, stress, and sometimes nutritional deficiencies. Therefore, if you see that your pet regularly chews or eats something that is not edible (stones, sticks, hair ties, plastic toys, etc.), it is recommended to consult a veterinarian as soon as possible.
Another potential risk is infections. If your dog eats other animals' feces (especially if it's a stranger on the street) or chews on the toilet brush (which may contain chemical residues, which are toxic). If you have a cat, clean the cat litter box after each emptying, thus minimizing the possibility of littering.

If your dog has swallowed anything that could pose a health risk, don't delay, take him to the vet as soon as possible! The thing may go away on its own, but if not, they may not be able to help the animal once symptoms appear.
As we wrote, if you notice this behavior in your pet, go to the doctor. On the other hand, it is also very important to educate him that such things are forbidden. For example, approaching the cat litter.

It's best to instruct your dog to stay away from the cat litter box or any dangerous areas or objects from the very beginning.
Don't encourage him with laughter or self-absorbed camerawork, because it's pointless to say "you were wrong, you shouldn't!" if your tears are rolling down your face from laughing.
It also helps if you don't let him play with things that are easy to chew on. Swallowing pieces may just be an added inconvenience to the fun.
Often boredom or stress causes dogs to chew. Always make sure to give your pet enough time to exercise physically and mentally, and provide a calm environment for them.
